These terms cover the Voltus website, early-access downloads, and the Voltus Discord bot. We keep them human-readable and aligned with the People First Design principles.
By using the site, downloads, or bot, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the services. If you are using them on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Voltus IDE. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
The download page uses Discord OAuth to verify you and, where configured, your membership in the Voltus Discord server. Keep your Discord credentials secure. You can revoke access at any time in your Discord settings.
Do not abuse the services, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with others, or use the bot or site to break the law, send spam, or harass. Respect rate limits and platform rules.
Downloads may be pre-release and can change, break, or be withdrawn. Use them at your own risk and always keep backups. We may update or remove features without notice.
Downloads are delivered through authenticated server-side requests that verify your Discord session. The download file location is never exposed to the browser. You may not attempt to bypass, circumvent, or reproduce the download delivery mechanism, including but not limited to crafting direct requests, extracting file paths, or automating access to the download endpoint outside of normal website use.
The bot processes commands and Discord IDs to respond. It is provided on an as-is basis and may log minimal operational data to keep the bot stable and secure. Do not use the bot to collect or expose personal data of others. The Voltus Discord community is a third-party platform governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Voltus maintainers are not responsible for content posted by community members. While we aim to moderate effectively, we cannot guarantee the community is free of offensive content.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect (including Vercel Web Analytics for the website) and how we use it. Using the services means you consent to those practices.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Voltus IDE application, the Voltus website, the Voltus Discord bot, and all related content, branding, logos, graphics, documentation, source code, object code, and compiled binaries (collectively, the "Voltus Materials") are and shall remain the exclusive property of Voltus IDE and its maintainers. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Voltus Materials solely for your personal or internal non-commercial use. This licence does not include any right to sub-license, sell, or commercially exploit any Voltus Materials.
Unless expressly authorised in writing by the Voltus maintainers, you shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
a) Modify or create derivative works — alter, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on any Voltus Materials, including but not limited to the IDE application, the website, the Discord bot, or any of their components.
b) Distribute or redistribute — copy, redistribute, publish, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, sell, resell, or otherwise make available any Voltus Materials (in whole or in part) to any third party, whether for free or for compensation, without prior written consent.
c) Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble — reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, data structures, or underlying ideas of any Voltus Materials, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly prohibits this restriction despite a contractual obligation to the contrary.
d) Remove or alter protections — remove, circumvent, disable, damage, bypass, or otherwise interfere with any obfuscation, encryption, digital rights management, copy protection, licence verification, access-control mechanism, or other security or technical protection measure applied to any Voltus Materials.
e) Scrape, extract, or bypass access controls — use any automated means (including bots, scrapers, crawlers, or spiders) to access, copy, or extract content, data, or code from the website, bot, IDE, or Discord server, or attempt to bypass, circumvent, or reverse-engineer the authenticated download delivery system (including forging session cookies, replaying requests, or accessing internal API endpoints outside of normal website use), except as expressly permitted by a public API we provide.
f) Misrepresent origin — remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, copyright markings, branding, watermarks, or attribution on any Voltus Materials, or present any Voltus Materials as your own or as originating from a source other than Voltus.
g) Facilitate violations — assist, encourage, or enable any other person to do any of the above.
Breach of this section constitutes a material violation of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your access, legal action, and a claim for damages (including statutory damages where available).
The services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voltus IDE and its maintainers disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voltus IDE and its maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the service; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content. If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the services (currently free).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Voltus IDE, its maintainers, and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms or misuse the services. We also reserve the right to restrict or deny access to downloads at our sole discretion, including by maintaining a list of Discord user IDs that are permitted or restricted from accessing the IDE. You will be notified if your access has been restricted.
You may stop using the services at any time. Sections on ownership, liability, indemnification, and dispute terms continue after termination.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of Victoria, without respect to its conflict of laws principles. Any claim or dispute between you and Voltus that arises in whole or in part from the Service shall be decided exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction located in Victoria, Australia, except where prohibited by law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date below and post a notice for material changes. Your continued use of the services after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Voltus IDE regarding the services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any term on one occasion shall not be deemed a waiver of any other term or of the same term on any future occasion.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
For questions about these Terms, please reach out via the Voltus Discord server or through the contact information provided on our website.
